Alice Folker is a contemporary art gallery founded in 2017. The gallery is situated in the centre of Copenhagen on Store Strandstræde 19 in a former atelier on the 5th floor and has a focus on emerging artists. All represented artists are in the collection of museums or public foundations and have made exhibitions at large institutions and museums and public commissions.
From 2017-2019 the gallery invited art students from academies to exhibit in the gallery space. Currently we represent 5 female and 3 male artists in the age between 28-37 years who are primarily Danish artists. The aim is to expand the representation worldwide and therefore the gallery is relocating to a larger space on Esplanaden 14, Copenhagen on 1 August.
Several exhibitions in the gallery and represented artists have been awarded with prizes and below we wish to highlight some:
2019: duo-exhibition 'OFF-Grid' by Frederik Næblerød and Casper Aguila was awarded by the Danish Arts Council for an extraordinary exhibition.
2019: Nat Bloch Gregersen was invited to the JCE biennale (Jeune Creation Européenne) and she was awarded with the Prix Special
2021: solo exhibition 'Stars in the Hair' by Anna Stahn was awarded by the Danish Arts Council for an extraordinary exhibition. 2020-
2022: Ragnhild May was invited to the programme The Young Artist Elite, The Danish Arts Council.
Kindly note that we do not accept unsolicited submissions from artists. Any material sent to the gallery will not be refunded.
