Alice Folker Gallery is moving to larger facilities
April 1st 2018
Karl Monies' exhibition "Gamut" is exhibited in the new new facilities at St. Strandstræde 19, 5 tv., until May 5th 2018.
After a year of address on Esplanaden, Alice Folker Gallery now moves to larger facilities. From April 1st, the new location for the gallery is in the beautiful studio rooms on the 5th floor of St. Strandstræde 19, which has until now housed the gallery Les Gens Heureux.
Since the opening, Alice Folker Gallery has focused on young artists, among them German Mena Moskopf, whose exhibition the danish newspaperJyllands Posten acknowledged with the words "In short, it's right, really good" together with five stars.
Recently, the gallery has presented a series of distinctive oil paintings by Frederik Næblerød, who has been featured as one of Danish art's new talents in the danish newspaper Børsen, also including Karl Monies, who has just been nominated as a candidate for one of the most prestigious prizes for young artists in Denmark. Karl Monies' current exhibition "Gamut" is continuing in the new facilities.
The gallery 's opening exhibition in the new facilities will be with Asger Harbou Gjerdevik, who just graduated from the internationally acknowledged Royal College of Art in London.
"I look forward to present Asger Gjerdevik's works with a large solo exhibition on May 18th. Alice Folker Gallery will continue to focus on new talents, but because there are now more square meters to exhibit in, there is also room for invited artists and presenting group exhibitions. "
Alice Folker Gallery and Les Gens Heureux will collaborate on exhibitions for the rest of the year including Coline Marotta, Asger Gjerdevik, Côme Clérino, Frederik Næblerød and Karl Monies. Alice Folker Gallery will also be represented at Code Art Fair this year.
